The old water heater with an asbestos-cement flue, no expansion tank, no gas cutoff, incorrect relief valve plumbing, and no floor stand was the main plumbing issue that we knew of when we met on Saturday. We knew of one other serious and difficult plumbing issue that the seller had not corrected and quickly discovered 4 more, including a missing exhaust vent for the clothes drier installation. Rather than being a disaster for out-of-town owners, we were extremely relieved to have a capable craftsman available, who knew exactly what would be required. We also received great advice about tankless natural gas water heaters, which might have simplified installation, but the older house did not have big enough gas supply pipes to assure good operation.
Long story short, a big list of problems became great assurance that everything will be working well for many years to come.Description of work:We bought a circa 1965 home in Summerville, SC and discovered after closing that much plumbing work was not done during renovation, other plumbing work was improperly done, and the water heater was old and was also improperly installed. Dutch was able to meet us on Saturday to review the situation without charging emergency rates and recommended complete re-plumbing to be sure that all issues would be resolved. 07/20/2016 – Jeff Madill " Dutch did an excellent job. We could not even tell he had been in the house. The holes were repaired to the point where we never knew they existed. He went the extra mile to ensure we had all issues fixed and made suggestions to fix things we didn't even know were an issue. His professionalism was beyond my expectations as well as the workmanship. This was the first home repair project I have had done with a company and I had ZERO issues or call backs for issues. 07/19/2016 – Susan Richerson "I have been working with Dutch for many years now assisting our real estate clients who have homes that were built using polybutylene back in the 1980s. We would never consider using anyone else. On an average 3,500 square foot house, the work takes about three days. Other than if he has to cut into wallpaper, there is absolutely no way to see where the walls were cut and repaired. Dutch not only replaces the drywall, he tapes, muds, sands and repaints to match. His work is perfection. We have never had a buyer or seller who was not 100% thrilled with the quality of his work!! Oh, and did I mention that he is priced lower than anyone else around - even competitors who will not repair the walls after the work is done!!

" Excellent. Honestly, I cannot say enough about Dutch or this company. We purchased a 4000sf house in November, and a few days before Christmas our insurance company let us know they'd be dropping our policy if we didn't have all the polybutylene pipes (the entire plumbing system) replaced within a month At first I called a regular plumber who quoted me around $16,000 for the job, and I don't think he was trying to give me an unfair price. After researching more, I learned that the best people to do the job are repiping specialist--not regular plumbers--so I called this company based on just a few angies list reviews. Dutch came out within a day or two and gave me a price, half of what I had gotten before, and it included moving/replacing my two very old water heaters in the attic with new ones into the garage (below the house). He started a few days later, and his work was excellent. Despite having to cut into walls, he kept everything neat; we hardly noticed him. He let us know exactly when water would be off to which sections of the house and minimized impact to us. He refinished and repainted the walls afterward so well that you cannot even tell that anything had ever been done. He was friendly and professional, and honestly made a very unwelcome event (having to suddenly repipe the whole house) into something close to pleasant. He was a real blessing to us. In the end, he even charged us less than he quoted because of something he had planned to do that hadn't been necessary. We wouldn't have had any idea it wasn't done. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the same predicament. I waited a few months to write this review to make sure we didn't experience any problems, and we haven't. Everything is working perfectly. Thanks so much, Dutch!!

I searched and searched for reviews for DDependable Service Repiping, but could only find reviews on their company's website. I really wanted to find an independent review like the one I am posting now. I contacted a realtor in SC who has recommended DDependable to a few clients. He gave me the warm fuzzy I was looking for as he stood by the review he personally left on DDependable's website. By the way DDependable is owned by a gentleman named "Dutch." I moved forward and chose Dutch to re-pipe my entire home, as it had been originally piped with a defective product that was continually causing insurance claims and tens of thousands in damage. They worked up a very reasonable quote and were able to fit me in between existing jobs. Dutch called me personally the morning they started work to explain what they would be doing. I was extremely pleased with their work from beginning to end. They were able to cut holes mostly in closet walls - probably a little bit lucky my house was designed the way it was - but they repaired all their access holes perfectly anyway. If you need your home re-plumbed, and live in SC, you cannot find a better choice. The pricing is VERY fair, and the work is ABOVE AND BEYOND professional.
